On 10th November 2009, The Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) held the 9th Graduation Ceremony for its students at the Markfield Conference Centre. The students, their families and friends, and other prominent guests were welcomed by Dr Manazir Ahsan, Rector of the Institute. Dr Ahsan went on to highlight some of MIHE's major achievements during the year and to wish the graduands every success in their chosen professions.
Dr Ahsan presented the first awards of the evening to students who had completed their postgraduate certificates and diplomas. Those students who had completed their Masters degrees from the University of Loughborough were given their awards by Professor Terry Kavanagh, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Loughborough. Professor Patricia Broadfoot, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire conferred the final awards to those who had completed their Masters degrees from the University of Gloucestershire. Professor Broadfoot then addressed the graduates, wishing them every success for the future.
The programme was concluded with closing remarks by Professor Khurshid Ahmad, Chairman of the Board of Directors, MIHE, and a vote of thanks by Dr Ataullah Siddiqui, Academic Director of the Institute.
