Head of Research: Dr Abdullah Sahin
The Postgraduate Research degrees programme at MIHE is validated by the University of Gloucestershire and has attracted a substantial number of national and international students. MIHE is relatively small in size but continues to develop graduate level academic study in several scholarly disciplines, such as, Islamic Studies, Islamic Education and Islamic Banking, Finance and Management.
The Institute’s research development plan constitutes an integral part of its overall strategic plan. Since its inception, the Institute has through its collaboration with the universities of Portsmouth, Loughborough and Gloucestershire enabled numerous successful completions of MPhil and PhD projects. The current MIHE Research Degrees Programme has successfully produced four PhD completions while eighteen students are presently working on their research projects. In collaboration with the University of Gloucestershire, the Institute regularly organises research training workshops for students and supervisory training sessions. The Institute’s collaboration with the University of Gloucestershire has come to an end. The Institute is actively pursuing a new collaborative partner for its Research Degrees Programme. We are hoping to resume admission to our Research Degrees Programme shortly.
