Scholarships and Grants
MIHE offers a limited number of scholarships to exceptionally well qualified applicants who have accepted the offer of a place at the Institute. These scholarships result in a significant reduction in the tuition fees payable for your course.
The Hardship Fund
The Hardship Fund is provided to students in conjunction with the Muslim charities, it is designed to assist students to complete their course.
Only students who are in dire financial circumstances and in genuine need, should apply as the funds are very limited. Full scholarships will not be provided, there will only be partial remission of fees.

The Ebrahim Bawany Memorial Scholarship Application Criteria
The Al-Medina Trust has kindly endowed 4 scholarships under the name of the Ebrahim Bawany Memorial Scholarship. Each scholarship valued at £3,000 is to be used towards the PhD students’ tuition fees. Applicants are invited to submit PhD level research proposals on the specialist subject areas offered at the Institute. Please check the MIHE website for further information regarding areas of academic research currently undertaken.
Completed applications must be submitted with a research proposal of not more than 1,500 words and must be received by 31st July 2012. Each scholarship will be awarded based on the strength and merit of the candidate’s research proposal. The applications will be carefully scrutinised by the Institute PG Research Degrees Committee and successful applicants will be informed by the end of September 2012.
